Seeking support
It can feel difficult to know where to turn when you, or someone you care about, are struggling with mental health difficulties, overwhelming emotions, or patterns of behaviour that are beginning to affect relationships, social life, school or work.
You may have experienced long waiting times for support, tried therapy in the past without finding it helpful, or feel understandably apprehensive about opening up to someone new.
I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space where you can explore what is happening at your own pace. I provide individualised psychological assessments and evidence-based therapy, tailored to your needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I specialise in working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing the impact of trauma, difficult childhood experiences, overwhelming emotions, unhelpful patterns of behaviour, low self-worth and relationship difficulties.
My aim is to help you make sense of your experiences, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and support you to make meaningful and lasting changes using psychological approaches informed by current research and clinical evidence.

Psychological Assessment
You may be experiencing overwhelming emotions, finding yourself relying on ways of coping that are no longer helpful, or noticing the same difficulties and relationship patterns repeating despite your best efforts to change them.
Past experiences can also continue to affect how you feel, think and respond in the present. Difficulties may begin to impact day-to-day life, relationships, confidence, work, school or university, or leave you feeling unsure about why you are struggling and what might help.
A psychological assessment provides an opportunity to develop a clearer understanding of what is happening.
I offer comprehensive psychological assessments to explore how your difficulties may have developed, the experiences and patterns that may be maintaining them, and the factors that may help you move forward.
Together, we develop a psychological formulation — an individualised understanding of your difficulties — which can then guide recommendations and, where appropriate, a tailored plan for psychological therapy.

Individual Therapy
Every person is unique, and therapy should reflect this. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Psychological assessment and therapy are individually tailored to your needs, experiences and goals, while being informed by the latest psychological research and evidence.

You don't need to have a diagnosis, or know exactly what is wrong, to come to therapy. Sometimes people simply recognise that certain experiences, emotions or patterns continue to affect how they feel about themselves, their relationships or the way they live their lives.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, which means I draw on different evidence-based psychological therapies according to what is most appropriate for you, rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model.
I have a particular interest in trauma, attachment and understanding how earlier experiences can continue to influence our emotions, relationships, beliefs about ourselves and patterns of behaviour in the present.
My main therapeutic approaches include:
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). A well-established psychological therapy for PTSD and traumatic experiences. I also use EMDR to work with difficult earlier experiences and memories that may continue to influence present-day emotions, beliefs and patterns.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Particularly helpful for understanding and managing intense emotions, impulsive behaviours, relationship difficulties and unhelpful ways of coping.
Attachment-informed therapy. Exploring how early relationships and experiences may have shaped the way you understand yourself, relate to others and respond to closeness, rejection or conflict.
Depending on your individual needs, I also integrate approaches and techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and ego-state approaches.
The aim is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, process experiences that may be keeping you stuck, and make meaningful and sustainable changes in your life.

Psychological Consultation and Supervision
I provide psychological consultation for individuals, groups and organisations who work with mental health and complex trauma. I can provide clinical supervision, reflective practice and consultation to support and educate others working in the mental health sector or within education or work settings.
